Kovai Kokarakko

Our place, Kovai Kokarakko, is located down on Uppilipalayam Road in the GV Residency area. It’s quite easy to spot us because we are right near the ESI office in Sowripalayam. Coimbatore is a big city but this neighborhood feels a bit more settled and quiet compared to the main center. We focus mostly on chicken dishes and local style cooking that fills you up. I’ve lived around here for a long time so opening a spot in this part of town made sense to me. The staff here are mostly local guys who know the regulars by name. We open up in the morning and start prepping the gravies and the meat right away. It’s not a massive restaurant with fancy decor, just some tables and chairs where you can sit and have your meal without much fuss. The street outside gets quite crowded in the evenings with people coming home from work, and that is usually when we are at our busiest. Sometimes the wait for a table is a bit long, but we try to move things along as fast as we can without rushing anyone’s dinner. We don’t spend much time on social media or making big posters. Most people just hear about us from their neighbors or see us while they are heading to the office. We just keep the lights on and the food ready for whoever walks through the door looking for a hot plate of food.
