Down on D B Road in R S Puram, you’ll see our shop at No 124. We go by A1 Chips & Export India Pvt Ltd, but most people in Coimbatore just know us for the chips we make right here. R S Puram is a great neighborhood, 641002 is always full of life, and being on D B Road means we see thousands of people walk by every week. We started out small, just making batches of chips and selling them to neighbors. Over time, things grew and we started sending them further away, even exporting them, but the heart of the business is still right here in this shop. We spend our mornings getting the frying going and the afternoons packing everything up into bags. It’s a lot of manual work, weighing things out and making sure the seals are tight so nothing goes stale. The shop gets pretty warm because of the cooking, but we’re used to it. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that; we just work from where we are. Our shelves are usually full, but they empty out fast on the weekends. We don’t use any complicated slogans. We just make the chips, put them in bags, and sell them to whoever walks in the door or orders a crate.
