Saraswathi Rice Shop

Saraswathi Rice Shop is located over in Malumichampatti, right on Valathavan Road. It’s a local spot where people from the neighborhood come to buy their rice in bulk or just a few kilos at a time. The shop itself is pretty basic, with big sacks lined up against the walls and a heavy scale on the counter. We spend most of our time weighing out orders and chatting with the regulars who live around here. Since we are on Valathavan Road, we get a lot of people stopping by on their way home from work. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, dragging those bags from the back to the front of the shop. The floor is usually covered in a few stray grains that escaped the scoop. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights, just a simple shop that serves the community. My family has been running this place for a while, so we know most of our customers by name. It’s a steady kind of life, opening the shutters early and staying until the evening rush is over. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded inside, and everyone has to wait their turn. We don't mind the busyness, though; it keeps the day moving. We just try to provide what people need without any fuss or complicated systems. It's just a regular shop doing its thing.
