Sana Beauty Training Centre

Sana Beauty Training Centre is over in Papanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore. We are at No 49 on Mgr Street. A good landmark is the Ishwarya Fertility Hospital, which is right opposite our building. This isn't just a regular parlor where you get a haircut; we actually teach people how to do the work. I’ve been in the beauty industry for a long time and decided it was better to pass on the skills to others. We have students coming in to learn everything from threading to advanced makeup and hair styling. It’s a busy place because there’s always someone practicing on a mannequin or a friend. Coimbatore has a lot of people looking for work, so these skills help them start their own small shops eventually. The space is set up with different stations for learning and teaching. We use Mgr street for our entrance. It’s a decent area, not too far from the main parts of town. I spend most of my day showing the girls how to hold the thread or how to mix the dyes correctly. It takes a lot of patience. Sometimes we have clients come in so the students can watch me work on them in real time. It’s a very hands-on environment. No big textbooks here, just doing the work with your hands. I keep the atmosphere friendly but we focus on getting the technique right every time. It’s rewarding to see someone go from not knowing anything to being able to run their own chair.
