Ponmani Foods

Our small setup at 109A, Annaiappan Street in Nallampalayam is where we handle all the work for Ponmani Foods. It isn't a massive factory, just a modest space where we prepare and pack various food items for the local shops. The street outside is usually quiet, except for the occasional delivery van dropping off supplies. Inside, we have a few stainless steel tables and some scales for weighing everything out. We take care with how we bag the products, making sure the seals are tight even if the labels are sometimes stuck on a little crooked. My cousin helps me out with the packing most days. We drink a lot of tea while we work and listen to the radio. It gets a bit cramped when we have a big order to get out, and we have to step over boxes to get to the sink. We don't have a fancy logo or a big advertising budget. Most people find out about us through word of mouth or by seeing our name on the packets in the corner store. We just try to keep things clean and do the work well enough without making a fuss. The neighborhood kids sometimes peek through the door to see what we are making. It’s a small, family-style operation that keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
