Nift Tea College Of Knitwear Fashion is located over at No. 163 TEKIC Tea Nagar in the Madhalipalayam area. It is a place where we focus on teaching people the ropes of the knitwear trade. Being in Tea Nagar, we are surrounded by a lot of the textile industry that this region is known for. The building itself is pretty functional. It is not one of those glass skyscrapers you see in the big cities. We have classrooms that are usually full of fabric samples and sewing machines that have seen a lot of use. You can hear the hum of the equipment throughout the day. It is a bit of a commute for some of us, but Madhalipalayam is a quiet enough spot once you get here. We spend our days showing students how to handle different types of knit fabrics and how to work the machines without getting jammed up. It is hands-on work, so everyone usually ends the day with thread on their clothes. We do not really do the corporate thing with big meetings or anything like that. Most of our talking happens over a quick cup of tea in the break area. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait a bit for it to come back on, but that is just how it is in this part of town. We just keep doing what we do, helping people learn a skill they can actually use in the factories nearby.
