Chai

Our place, simply called Chai, sits on Venkatasamy Road West in the R S Puram area of Coimbatore. We are building number 122/1, right across from that shop called Chocolate and such. It’s a popular part of the city, and we see a lot of foot traffic every single day. We aren't a big chain with hundreds of locations. We are just here in R S Puram doing what we know. People stop by for a drink when they are out shopping or running errands. The smell of tea is usually the first thing you notice when you walk in. We use basic pots and burners to get the job done. It’s not a high-tech kitchen with fancy gadgets. We have a few benches where people can sit for a bit and relax. Some stay for a long time talking with friends, while others just grab a cup and head back out to the street. Coimbatore gets quite warm, so a hot drink might seem odd to some, but it’s what we do and people seem to like it. We don't have a fancy menu with names you can't pronounce. It is just tea and maybe a few snacks if we have them ready in the glass case. The staff here are just local folks who know how to make a decent brew. We keep the place clean, but it looks like a normal shop, not some designer boutique. We’ve been on this corner for a bit, and we like the neighborhood energy. Most days are the same, just pouring tea and chatting with whoever comes in.
