Manimahalai Poultry Farm

We’ve been here on Angripalayam Road for quite some time now. Dealing with birds is a lot of work. The farm is right at number one on Mariamman Kovil Street. It gets busy early in the morning when things start moving. Sometimes the weather makes it hard, but you just get through it. People around here know where we are. It’s not a fancy setup, just some sheds and the daily routine of feeding and checking on the flock. We spend most of our day out there. My family helps out too. It’s a lot of physical labor, cleaning up and making sure everything stays organized. The traffic on the road can be a bit loud sometimes. You get used to it after a few years. We sell eggs and birds to anyone who stops by. It’s a plain business, nothing too complicated about it. We just try to keep things steady. Some days are longer than others, especially when it’s hot outside. The birds need a lot of water then. We’ve known the neighbors for years. It’s a quiet enough spot most of the time. We just focus on the work at hand. No big office or anything, just the farm life right here. We feed them at sunrise. The fence needs fixing every now and then. It is just the way things go when you run a place like this. We don't mind it much.
