Number 13 on Trichy Road is where you’ll find us. We’re in the Ramanathapuram area, which is usually quite busy. It’s mostly about the ice cubes here, though we have other things too. The heat on Trichy Road can be pretty bad in the afternoons, so we stay busy keeping the ice ready and moving it out to whoever needs it. It’s a simple setup, just a lot of heavy lifting and moving bags around. The floor is almost always a bit wet, but that’s just how it is when you’re dealing with ice all day. We’ve been in this building for a long time. It’s got that old feel to it. We don’t have any fancy signs or bright lights. Most people just know we’re here because they’ve been coming for years. We get a lot of delivery guys and local shop owners stopping by to pick up what they need for their own businesses. It’s a lot of manual work, honestly. My back usually aches by the time we close up at night. We don’t really have a lobby or a place for people to sit and chat. It’s more of a warehouse feel than a regular shop. We just keep our heads down and get the orders out. The traffic on the main road is constant, so getting in and out of the driveway can be a bit of a pain sometimes. It’s just how it goes.
