Jai Krishna Foods

You can find Jai Krishna Foods at 31B, Kulsekara Alwar Street. We are very close to the Sowrashtra School. You can usually hear the kids playing during their break times. It’s a narrow street and parking can be a real headache, so most people just walk over. We started this small food place because we wanted to stay in the neighborhood. It’s a modest setup. We have a few tables but most people just take their things to go. The kitchen is small and we have to stay organized or it becomes a mess. We buy our supplies from the market every morning. It's a lot of walking and carrying bags. We don't have a big menu. We just make what we know how to do well. Some days are slower than others, especially when the school is closed for holidays. But we have our regulars who come by for a chat and a snack. We’ve had some leaks in the roof during the big rains, and the paint is peeling a bit, but it doesn't stop us. We just keep the stove going and the food ready. It’s a simple business run by people who care about the local community. We aren't looking to change the world, just to feed our neighbors. Most evenings we are quite tired but we always come back the next morning.
