Jai Co-Co Mills

Jai Co-Co Mills is located at S.F. No. 800-4C on Sukkuttipalayam Road. We are out in Raddivalasu, near Olapalayam, where the air usually smells like dried coconut. It’s a pretty rural spot, and the road to get here can be a bit bumpy if you’re driving a small car. We have a couple of large sheds where the grinding and processing happen. The noise from the mills is constant from dawn until we shut down in the evening. It’s a family-run place, and my cousins are usually the ones overseeing the machines while I handle the visitors. We’ve had to fix the roof a few times after big storms, and the paint on the gate is peeling. It’s a tough business because the prices of raw materials change every week, and we have to keep up. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a sales team. Most people find us because they saw our trucks or heard about us from someone else in the trade. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the long shifts. The yard is full of sacks waiting to be loaded, and there’s always a bit of dust in the air. We don't pretend to be anything we aren't. We just run a mill and try to keep everything working as best we can. It’s hard work, but it’s our life and we've been doing it a long time.
