Idayakani Sweet Corn

We are Idayakani Sweet Corn and our place is at number 60 in the B B Complex, right by Premier Mills. It is a busy spot with lots of workers and people passing through all day long. We deal with sweet corn, which means a lot of peeling and sorting. It can be quite a messy job when the fresh loads arrive from the fields. We have a few tables set up where we work and the floor usually has some husks on it until we do the big clean-up. People come by when they want something fresh for their meals. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It is just a small operation in the complex. My cousin helps me out most days and we have a couple of others who come in when it's really busy. The smell of fresh corn is something you get used to after a while. Sometimes the delivery truck is late because of the traffic near the mills, and we just have to wait around and drink tea until it shows up. It is honest work and it keeps us on our feet. We don't bother with much advertising because the word of mouth around here is enough to keep us going. We just try to make sure the corn we put out is good enough for our own families to eat. That’s really all there is to it for us.
