Flower & Flowers

We are located at No 1 in the P. S. Market. Being the first stall in the row means we see everyone who walks into the market. It’s a loud, crowded place, especially during festival seasons. Flower & Flowers has been in this particular nook for quite a while. We deal with all sorts of cut flowers and arrangements. The floor is almost always wet because we have to keep the flowers in buckets of water. It’s not a place for fancy shoes. We spend the day trimming stems and pulling off dead petals. There is always a pile of green scraps in the corner by the end of the day. The market can be a bit overwhelming with all the shouting and people pushing through, but we enjoy the energy of it. We aren't a big shop with glass windows; it’s an open stall where you can see everything we have right away. Our hands are usually busy making strings of marigolds or sorting through bunches of lilies. We talk to the other vendors a lot, mostly complaining about the heat or the price of supplies. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't use much technology here, just a notebook for keeping track of what we owe and what we’ve sold. It’s just how the market works for us. We stay open late most nights when the crowds are still moving through the aisles looking for something fresh.
