Arun'S Engineering Works

Arun'S Engineering Works is based out of a unit at Sf-213 on the Sitra Kalapatti Road. If you know the Kalapatti Post area, you know it is quite an industrial stretch. Our workshop is usually a noisy place because of the machines running. We have been here for a while, and the floor is stained with oil and grease from all the engineering projects we take on. It is a hands-on kind of job. Most of us spend the whole day on our feet, wearing work boots and keeping an eye on the lathes and drills. The air smells a bit like burnt metal and coolant, which is just how an engineering shop should be. We have a small area near the front with a couple of plastic chairs for visitors, but nobody sits there for very long. The Sitra Kalapatti Road is always busy with trucks and bikes, so there is a constant hum of traffic outside our door. Sometimes we have to shout a bit just to be heard over the noise of the grinders. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you just walk in and find one of us. Usually, Arun is around the back checking on a piece of equipment. We take our breaks under the shade of the roof when it gets too hot. It is hard work, but it is what we know.
