Laan Mata Kisan Producer Company Limited is based out of Village Takarda. It’s a quiet place in the Bhainsrodgarh area of Chittorgarh. Vimal Kumar Dhakar is the one who helps manage things from the house there in Post Tamboliya. We are all just farmers from the local villages who thought it was time to join up. Farming in this part of Rajasthan has its challenges, especially with the hills and the water situation. We spend a lot of time just figuring out the logistics of moving goods and getting supplies to the fields. It’s a very hands-on job. You won’t find any polished sales pitches here. We mostly just talk about the dirt, the rain, and the harvest. Sometimes the work is slow, and other times we are running around trying to get everything sorted before the weather turns. Our company is really just a way for us to have a bit more say in how our produce is handled. We meet up at the village, drink some tea, and plan out the month. It’s nothing like those big companies in the cities. We know everyone by their first name, and we know whose field is where. Takarda is a small place, so word travels fast. We just want to do right by the land and the people living on it. It’s simple work, but it takes a lot of heart and time to get everything right.
