Shiva Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited

Shiva Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based over in Ghasiyaripura, right near the Kotwali area. We stay at C/O Shiv Kumari Singh’s place. It’s a local setup where a bunch of us farmers came together to try and get better deals for our crops. Being a producer company means we spend a lot of time talking to each other about prices and seeds. We don't have a big corporate office. Our meetings are usually held in the front room or out in the yard if the weather is nice. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when everyone starts talking at once, but that’s just how we are. We try to help each other out with equipment and knowledge. It’s hard to make a living in farming these days, so we figured we’d be better off working as a group. Ghasiyaripura is where most of us grew up, so we know the land pretty well. We don't use any fancy language or complicated strategies. We just look at what’s growing and where we can sell it. Sometimes the harvest is great and other times it’s a bit thin. We just take it as it comes. It’s a lot of work keeping the records straight for all the members, but we do our best with what we have. It’s a community thing more than anything else for us and we like it that way.
