Aahuti Farmers Producer Company Limited

We operate out of Kopakhada, near the Ghoghari post office in Amarwara. It’s Raghuraj Singh Dehariya’s place where we usually get together. Being a farmers producer company means we spend a lot of time talking to each other about what’s growing in the fields. We aren't a big corporate entity. Most of us are just farmers ourselves. We handle the collection and sorting of whatever is in season. Sometimes it’s a lot of work and we are out there until it gets dark. The office part of it is pretty small. Just a desk and some files in a corner. We’d rather be outside anyway. It’s quiet out here in Amarwara, except when the tractors are moving. We started Aahuti to try and make things a bit more organized for ourselves. It isn't always smooth. We have problems with transport or the prices at the market fluctuate too much. We just take the good days with the bad. There are no fancy uniforms here. Just regular clothes and dirty boots. We know everyone in the village. That’s how we do business. It’s about trust and hard work. We don’t make big promises. We just try to get the work done and hope for a good harvest every year. If someone needs help, we chip in. It is just the way we have always done things.
