Medi Needs

We are located at 42 Moorthy Street in West Mambalam. If you know West Mambalam, you know it’s a place with a lot of character and very narrow roads. Our shop, Medi Needs, is right in the middle of it. We carry all the basic medical supplies that people in the area might need. It’s a small space, so we have boxes stacked almost to the ceiling. We try to keep it orderly, but when a new shipment comes in, it’s a bit of a scramble for a few hours. We’ve got a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long to keep the heat away. Most of our customers are folks from the neighborhood who’ve been coming to us for years. We know their names and what they usually need. We don't have a website or any of that fancy stuff; we just stay behind the counter and talk to whoever walks in. Sometimes we run out of things like surgical tape or gauze, and we have to wait a day for the distributor to show up. It’s a simple life here on Moorthy Street. We open up early and close once the evening shoppers start to thin out. It’s just us, some medicine boxes, and a lot of friendly neighbors. Sometimes we sit on the stools outside when it gets too cramped inside and just watch the people go by as the sun sets over the street.
