Joseph Lesile Drager

This office is located down at 22 A Basian Road, right in Gomatha Nagar 1st Street. We are in Thiruvottiur, which is an interesting part of Chennai to be in. It can get quite hot here, especially with the sea not being too far away. The humidity really sticks to you some days. The building we are in is a basic one, nothing that would stand out from the street. We’ve got the name Joseph Lesile Drager on the paperwork, and we’ve been operating from this spot for a while. Inside, it’s mostly just desks and the usual equipment we need for our daily tasks. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stand, but the street is usually busy with people going about their business. We get the occasional breeze if the windows are open, which helps. There’s a lot of activity in this part of town, with small shops and houses all cramped together. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. If someone comes by, they just walk right in. We usually have a pot of tea going. It’s a simple way of working, without any of the big city pretension you might find in Nungambakkam or places like that. We just focus on what needs to be done each day and try to stay cool while doing it. It’s just a regular Chennai workplace on Basian Road. There is a small shrine on the corner that people visit in the mornings. You can hear the bells from the office. It's a nice sound to start the day with.
