Gambaks Instruments Co.

Our company, Gambaks Instruments Co., is situated at Plot No. 5 in Brindavan Nagar, over in Valasaravakkam. It’s a fairly residential part of town, so it’s a bit quieter than the main industrial zones. We have a small building that serves as both our office and where we handle the instruments. There are lots of shelves filled with boxes and small parts. We have to be careful with everything because the stuff we handle can be quite delicate. It’s not the kind of place where you can just throw things around. We spend a lot of our time peering at small components or writing down numbers in ledgers. We still use paper for a lot of things because it’s just easier for us. The lighting inside could be better, but we’ve got lamps on the desks for the close-up work. We’ve been in Valasaravakkam for years and have seen the neighborhood grow and get more crowded. Our gate is usually shut to keep the dust out from the street. We’re a small team, mostly family or people who have been with us forever. We don’t have much in the way of a break room, so we usually just eat lunch at our desks. It’s a quiet, steady kind of work. We aren't trying to change the world; we’re just making sure the orders go out correctly and on time. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We like the peace and quiet we get in Brindavan Nagar.
