Anacuir

Anacuir is located at No. 48/1 on Evk Sampath Road. This is in Vepery. It’s an old part of town with a lot of character and history. We work with leather here too. The name sounds a bit French but we are just local folks doing our jobs. The shop is a bit cramped because of all the rolls of leather we keep in stock for projects. We make bags and some smaller items like wallets. The smell of leather is very strong when you walk inside. Some people like it, but some find it a bit much. We've been at this spot for years. The neighbors are mostly other small businesses like ours. We have a couple of guys who are really good at stitching and cutting. They've been with us since the very start. It's not a fancy showroom, it's a workshop. We have scraps of leather all over the floor by the end of the day. We try to keep it clean but it’s hard when you’re busy with orders. The street gets flooded sometimes when it rains hard in the monsoon. That’s always a worry for the stock we keep on the floor. We don't have a website or anything like that. Just the phone and the people who walk in off the street. It’s a straightforward business. We make things, we sell them, and we try to do a decent job of it every day.
