Velavan Machine Shop

We are located at number 3 on Poonamallee High Road in Koyambedu. It is a loud area with all the road traffic, but we are used to the noise by now. The machine shop has been here for a good number of years. We do a lot of turning, milling, and general repair work on various metal parts for machines. The equipment we use is older but it still runs fine if you treat it right and keep it oiled. You will usually find us covered in a bit of oil or metal dust by midday. There is always a project sitting on the bench, whether it is a small part for a neighbor’s vehicle or something bigger for a factory nearby. We do not have a fancy storefront or a place to sit. It is just the shop floor and a small corner where we keep the books. People come to us because they know we can fix things that others might just throw away. Koyambedu is always moving, and we try to keep up with that pace. Sometimes we have to hunt for spare parts for days, but that is just part of the job. We do not talk much while the machines are running because you cannot hear anything anyway. We just focus on the measurements and the finish of the metal. It is a simple way to make a living.
