Our office is at No 54/4 in the Aditya Aswin Apartments on Dr. Ranga Road. Being in Mylapore means the streets are always full of activity and there is that distinct smell of coffee from the nearby cafes. We are on one of the floors of the apartment block, so it feels more like a home than a strict workplace. We have a few desks squeezed in and a small area for files. The lift sometimes acts up, so some of us just take the stairs to keep moving. It is a very Chennai kind of spot, right in the middle of everything but quiet once you get inside the building. We start our day early before the heat gets too bad. Most of the staff here have been around for a long time and they know the routine by heart. We don't have any big meetings about visions or anything like that. We just look at what needs to be done and we do it. If a client calls, we talk to them plainly. There is no script. Sometimes we stay late when there is a lot of work, but mostly we try to get out before the evening traffic peaks on Dr. Ranga Road. It is a small team and we all know each other well. We keep the place tidy but it is definitely a lived-in office. It works for us and the people we deal with don't seem to mind the lack of frills.
