Universafe Safety Lockers

We’ve been here at the P.V.C. Complex on T.H. Road for a long time now. People around Old Washermenpet usually know us by the Pandian Theater bus stop, or they just look for Nirmila Stores across the way. It’s a busy spot with all the traffic and people. Inside our shop, we deal with heavy steel and locks all day. It gets noisy with the metal clanging, but that’s just how it is when you’re making safety lockers. My father started this business, and now we just keep it going as best as we can. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights or anything like that. It’s mostly just us working with the tools and making sure the doors on the lockers swing right and the keys don’t stick. Some days the traffic outside on T.H. Road is so loud we can barely hear ourselves, but we get the work done. We handle a lot of heavy lifting here. It’s honest work. If you walk past the old number 449 building, you’ll see us there. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, honestly. But we focus more on the stuff we build. People come in looking for a way to keep their papers or jewelry safe, and we show them what we’ve got ready on the floor. It isn't complicated. We just make things that stay shut when you lock them.
