Sree Ambal Furniture

Our shop is located at number 39 on Kaligarayan Street, though you might see some old signs that still call it number 13. We are right in the heart of Royapettah, which is a very lively area. It is a busy street with lots of small businesses lined up one after another along the road. We have all our furniture laid out across the main floor, mostly wooden things like beds, tables, and various cabinets. It can get a bit crowded in there sometimes because we try to keep a lot of stock ready for people to walk in and look at. There is usually a strong smell of cut wood and furniture polish in the air, which is something we have just gotten used to over the years. We spend a lot of our time moving pieces around to make enough space for new deliveries coming in. The guys who work here have been with us for a very long time, so they know exactly where every single item is kept even if it looks a bit messy to someone walking in for the first time. We do not have a fancy showroom with bright spotlights or anything like that. We just use the natural light coming through the front windows and a few basic lamps we have plugged in. When someone comes in, we just walk around the floor with them and show them what we have available right then. Sometimes we have to go into the back storage area to find a specific size or a different color for them. We like being in Royapettah and being part of the local street life.
