Most people find us easily because we are directly opposite the Indian Oil petrol bunk, which is a big landmark in this part of Chennai. It is always busy around here with cars and bikes zooming past all day long. We started Udhayam Driving School because we saw how nervous people get when they first sit behind a steering wheel in this city. Chennai traffic is no joke, and learning to handle it takes a lot of time and a bit of a thick skin. Our office is a simple place where we keep the schedules and chat with students before they head out for their lessons. We spend most of our hours in the cars, though. We go through those narrow lanes and the big main roads until the students feel okay doing it on their own. The sun can be really strong here, so those morning slots always fill up the fastest. We have been doing this for a while now, and we have seen all kinds of drivers come through. Some pick it up fast and others need a lot of extra practice, but that is just part of the job. We don't make a big fuss about things. We just show up, take the cars out, and help people get their license without too much stress.
