Arun Driving School

You can find us at number 61 on Jermiah Road in Vepery. It’s an old part of town near Periyamet, so the streets are narrow and always full of people and carts. We’ve been running the driving school from this spot for a long time. The office is just a front room with some benches for waiting. We have a couple of hatchbacks that we use for the lessons. Most of the time, the cars are out and about in the neighborhood. We start early because the morning air is cooler and the traffic is a bit lighter. Teaching someone to shift gears in this neighborhood is a real test of nerves for everyone involved. We don't use any fancy simulators or videos. We just get you behind the wheel and start with the basics. The walls have some old diagrams of traffic signs that have been there forever. Some of the paint is peeling near the door frame. It doesn't matter much to the actual work we do. People come to us because we are right here in the community and they know us. You can usually hear the constant horns from the main road while we sit inside and talk. We keep the paperwork in some old metal cabinets that squeak a bit. It is a very straightforward operation. No big marketing gimmicks or anything like that. Just showing people how to handle a car and get through the test.
