Being in Sidco Industrial Estate in Ambattur means things are always loud. We are at 31-A/15. If you walk through our doors, you’ll hear the machines running from back in the workshop. It’s got that specific smell of metal and oil that never really goes away. We’ve been here for years, through the rain and the heat. The guys on the floor know their stuff. They don’t say much, they just get to work. Most of our day is spent looking at drawings or checking the lathes. It’s a lot of precision stuff, but it’s dirty work too. Our hands are rarely clean by lunch. Speaking of lunch, we usually eat together and talk about nothing much. Ambattur is a busy hub, so there's always a truck trying to squeeze into the lane. We’ve had to fix our own roof twice because of the heavy rains. It’s just an old industrial shed really, but it’s where we do everything. Tribo Tech isn't a big glass building. It’s a place where we make things that go into bigger machines. We focus on the specs and getting the parts right. If a machine breaks down, we stay late until it’s humming again. That’s just life at 31-A/15. We keep our heads down and keep the production line moving as best we can. It's a lot of sweat and effort but it pays the bills and keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
