Working out of the Sidco Industrial Estate in Ekkattuthangal means things are always loud. There’s the constant sound of machines and people moving things around the floor at Trexta India. We handle leather, so the smell is something you just get used to after the first few days. It is heavy work sometimes. We have the units at TS-133 and 134, so we have a decent amount of space, but it always feels full once the raw materials arrive. The stacks of leather take up a lot of room. Most of the guys here have been working with these materials for a long time. They know how it feels and how it should be cut. We don't have a big fancy office. It’s mostly just the production floor and some desks tucked away in the corner. Ekkattuthangal is a busy area, especially when the shifts change and everyone is out on the road at once. It can be a bit chaotic. We try to keep things organized, but in a manufacturing setup, there’s always a bit of a mess somewhere. Scraps on the floor, oil on the tools, that kind of thing. It’s a real job and it’s hard work. We stay focused on the leather accessories. There is a rhythm to the cutting and sewing that keeps the day moving. By the time we lock up at night, everyone is usually pretty tired, but the work is finished and we are ready to do it again the next day.
