Our workshop is over in the Ambattur Industrial Estate, right at the Sidco Aiema Towers. We spend most of our time at the 114-A unit. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we are used to it. We deal with machines every single day. A dedicated front desk person isn't something we have; usually, whoever isn't holding a tool at the moment answers the phone. The floors are concrete and usually have some metal shavings on them. We make parts and fix things for other businesses around Chennai. People come to us when they need something specific made. It's dirty work, and our hands are rarely clean. Glossy brochures aren't our thing. Most of our regular customers just know us by name and stop by when they have a problem with a machine. The weather in Chennai makes the shop get really hot in the afternoons, but the fans keep things moving. We just keep working until the orders are finished. It’s been our routine for years now. We like being in the heart of the industrial zone because everything we need is just down the road. We share our tea with the guys from the unit next door and wait for the Padi traffic to clear up.
