Out here in Thiruvanmiyur, the air feels a little different than the city center. Our place is at 54/55 Nehru Nagar, which is easy enough to find if you know the area. We deal with medical exports and imports, so there is always a lot of talk about shipping and customs. The office is usually filled with the sound of packing tape being pulled and boxes being moved around. It isn't a massive warehouse, just a decent-sized space where we manage the logistics. We have been working from this Nehru Nagar spot for a good bit of time now. The street outside is mostly residential, so it's not as chaotic as some other parts of Chennai. We spend a lot of time on emails and tracking where things are going. Sometimes the shipments get delayed, and that makes for a stressful afternoon, but that is just part of the trade. We have a few desks, some sturdy shelves, and a map on the wall that's seen better days. It is a straightforward operation. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because we are mostly focused on the crates and the paperwork. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we have a good little group that knows how to handle the daily grind. It's a steady life of checking manifests and moving inventory.
