Thillai Engineering Works

If you are looking for Thillai Engineering Works, we are situated right at No 161 in the Sidco Estate. It is very close to the Pattravakkam Railway Station, so you can hear the trains passing by quite often throughout the working day. That sound has just become a normal part of the background for us after all these years. We do a lot of shop floor work here. It is dusty and often loud because of the machines, but that is the nature of engineering. We have got lathes and various other tools spread across the floor. Most of the guys here have been working with us for a long time and know exactly where every single tool is kept, even if it looks a bit cluttered to someone just visiting. We do not have a big reception area or a waiting room. You just walk in through the main door and someone will usually be there near the main workbench. We take on jobs from other businesses in the estate or from people who need specific metal parts made. It is a lot of manual work and checking measurements over and over. Sometimes the heat in the workshop gets to be a bit much in the middle of the afternoon, but we just keep the big fans going and stay busy. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the city, just a place that gets the job done and keeps things moving.
