Technicraft

Technicraft is situated at 41 Arcot Road, right across from Rakshit Hospitals in Valasarawakkam. If you’ve ever driven down Arcot Road, you know how the traffic is, so our shop is right in the middle of all that activity. We do a lot of technical work and some custom crafting, so the place is usually filled with the smell of metal or wood being worked on. We have a few workbenches that are pretty scratched up from years of use, and tools are hanging on almost every available inch of wall space. It’s not a showroom where everything is polished and shiny. It’s a workshop where things get repaired or built from scratch. Sometimes people drop by because they saw our sign while stuck in traffic, asking if we can fix something they have at home. We usually have a few projects going on at once, so there’s bits of materials scattered on the floor and some half-finished pieces sitting on the shelves. It’s just a couple of us who know our way around the machinery. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to order parts. Most of the time we are just busy with our hands, making sure the measurements are right and the machines are running okay. It’s honest work and we’ve been at this same spot for a long time now. We like being near the hospital because it’s easy for people to give directions to our place.
