Swamys Kitchen

Swamys Kitchen is located in Cit Nagar, right on Canal Bank Road in the Nandanam area. The address can be a bit tricky because it has an old number, 61, and a new number, 116. Most people just look for the shop near the canal. It is a small place where we spend most of our day. We have lived in Chennai our whole lives and starting this kitchen was a way to stay busy. It isn't a big operation. We have a small stove and some basic counters. The air is often thick with the smell of spices and steam. We don't have a lot of room for people to sit, so many of our customers take their food away. We start our work very early in the morning, usually before the sun is even up, to get everything prepped. Canal Bank Road can get quite congested during office hours, so we see a lot of commuters. We don't use any fancy packaging or have a big logo. We just use what is practical. My wife helps me with the orders and sometimes our son comes by after school to lend a hand. We aren't looking to become famous or anything. We just want to keep our regulars happy and make a living. It’s a quiet life in a loud city and we like it that way here at our kitchen.
