Shirdi Sai Catering Service

We are over in West Saidapet on Devanaidu Street. It is an old house area, so finding the new number 14 can be tricky if you are not looking closely at the gates. We started Shirdi Sai Catering Service because we liked cooking for big groups. It is mostly family running the show here every day. The kitchen gets really hot, especially when we have three or four big orders at once. We do a lot of weddings and small house functions for people around here. Most of our day is spent cleaning vegetables or checking on the rice. We use traditional pots for some things because it just tastes better that way. It is noisy in the mornings with all the chopping and the delivery vans coming in and out. We do not have a big fancy office, just a desk and a phone where we take down what people want. Sometimes we run out of certain spices and have to rush to the market. It is honest work. My brother handles the deliveries and I stay back to manage the stove. We try to keep things simple. If someone wants a specific type of sambar or a certain sweet, we try to make it happen for them. We have been on Devanaidu Street for a long time now. People in the neighborhood know us well. We do not do much talking, we just cook and make sure the food gets where it needs to go on time.
