Sur Sangam Orchestra

You can find us at Prince Plaza on Pantheon Road, specifically in shop G 23. We’re right across from the Government Child Hospital here in Egmore. Sur Sangam Orchestra has been around for quite a while now. We are a group of musicians who just like playing together. Our space is usually filled with instrument cases, cables, and sheet music scattered around. It’s not the neatest place, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time practicing and getting the sound right for different events. Chennai has a deep love for music, so there’s always something happening. Whether it's a small family function or something a bit bigger, we just bring our gear and play. We don't have a fancy marketing team or anything. Most people find us through word of mouth or by just walking past the plaza and hearing us practice. Sometimes we lose track of time when we’re rehearsing a new song. The guys in the band have been playing together for years, so we understand each other pretty well. It’s more of a lifestyle than just a job for us. We just want to make sure the rhythm is right and everyone has a decent time. If you’re ever in Egmore, stop by. You might catch us tuning up our instruments or just having tea.
