A A Caterers

If you walk down Bazaar Road in Mylapore, you’ll see us right across from that A1 Five Star Fast Food place. We are on the second floor at number 79/29. It’s a busy building. A A Caterers has been cooking out of this space for a while now. You can usually smell what we’re making before you even get up the stairs. It’s not a quiet place. There’s always the sound of knives hitting cutting boards or big pots bubbling on the stoves. We handle all sorts of events, but mostly it's just us in the kitchen making sure the salt is right and the rice isn't overcooked. Mylapore is great because the markets are right there, so we can get fresh stuff every morning without having to go far. It gets really hot in the kitchen, especially in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open. We have a small team, mostly guys who have been cooking their whole lives. We don't really do fancy plated dinners with tiny portions; we like to make sure there's enough food for everyone to have seconds. Sometimes we get orders for weddings, other times it’s just a small family gathering. We treat them all the same, just get the food packed and out the door on time. The stairs are a bit steep when you’re carrying heavy trays, but we’re used to it. Just simple, honest cooking for the neighborhood.
