Down here on Thiruvalluvar Street, things stay pretty quiet most of the time compared to the bigger towns. We are located at number 175 in Vaipur Village, which is a place where everyone knows their neighbor. Suku Foods started out small and to be honest, it still feels that way most days. We focus on getting food items ready for the local families nearby. My cousin helps out with the packing, and we usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. It is not a high-tech operation. We have some tables, some scales, and a lot of bags to fill. Sometimes the rain makes the street muddy, and it slows down our deliveries, but we just wait it out. We do not spend money on big ads or flashy signs. Mostly, people just stop by because they were passing through the village or they heard about us from a friend. We try to keep the place tidy, though with flour and grains around, there is always a bit of sweeping to do at the end of the shift. It feels good to see the finished products stacked up ready to go. Life in the village moves at its own pace, and we just try to keep up with the daily orders without making too much of a fuss. It is just us doing what we know how to do.
