We are located at No. 213, Rajive Gandhi Salai, which most people around here just call OMR. Our place, Stoneplate Restaurant, is in Thoraipakkam, specifically the Mettukuppam area. Being on the Old Mahabalipuram Road means there is constant noise from the cars and buses going by. It’s a fast-paced part of Chennai, and we have to keep up with that energy every single day. The restaurant isn't just about the food you see on the plate; it’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work in a kitchen that gets very hot and cramped. We have a small team, and we all end up doing a bit of everything, whether it’s cleaning up a spill or talking to a vegetable vendor. We aren't a corporate chain with a manual for everything. We just figure things out as we go. Sometimes a lightbulb goes out or the internet acts up, and we just deal with it. It’s an honest living. We chose this spot because there are always people around, even if the traffic is a headache. We don't have any polished slogans or marketing tricks. We just show up, open the doors, and get to work. It’s been a learning process since we started Stoneplate, and we've had our share of long nights. But we like the buzz of Thoraipakkam and being part of the daily life in this corner of Chennai.
