Sridurga Driving School

My name is at the door of Sridurga Driving School here in Saligramam. We are set up at P No 111 on Durai Arasan Street. Chennai is a big place, but this little corner of Saligramam feels like home to us after all these years. I’ve been teaching people to drive for a long time, and I mostly do it right from this very street. It is a quiet enough spot to start a lesson before we head out into the heavier Chennai traffic that everyone talks about. The building is just a simple place where we keep our stuff and wait for the next student to arrive. People from the neighborhood usually just walk over when they want to learn because they see us around. We don't do much advertising; mostly it’s just people seeing us out on Durai Arasan Street every day in the morning. Sometimes the rain makes the roads a bit messy, but we still go out and practice. I think it’s important for people to learn in all kinds of weather conditions. We keep our schedules on a piece of paper on the wall and just take it one student at a time. It’s not a corporate office with a lot of staff or fancy coffee machines. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. If you find yourself on P No 111, you’ll see our cars parked out front or maybe just one if the others are currently out on a lesson. We like being in this part of town and helping folks get their license.
