Sri Thanigai

Triplicane is always a bit chaotic, but that’s just how life is in this part of Chennai. We are right on Muthukalathi Street, exactly opposite Kasthuribai Hospital. It’s an old building, and we use the numbers Old 1 and New 1. People usually use the hospital across the road as a landmark to find us. We’ve been in this exact spot for years, watching the traffic go by. The street is narrow, so parking is always a major headache for everyone. We don’t have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure things are in order. It gets very humid here, especially in the long afternoons, so we mostly keep the fans going and stay busy with work. Sometimes people come in just to ask for directions because the hospital is such a big landmark. We don’t mind at all. It’s a simple shop. Nothing fancy on the walls, just the basic stuff we need to get through the day. We see students, families, and people visiting the hospital all day long. The noise from the street never really stops, but you get used to it after working here for a while. We open early and stay until the evening. It’s a long day, but it’s what we do. No big plans to change anything, we just like being part of this neighborhood. If you’re around Triplicane, you’ve probably walked past our door many times. That’s just how these local shops are.
