We operate out of Rajam Villa at Door No. 5, which used to be Old No. 2, over in the 4th street of Railway Colony. This is right off Nelson Manickam Road in Aminjikarai. Our business is Sri Swatham Catering & Foods Private Limited. Since we do catering, our kitchen is the main part of the house. We spend most of our time cooking for events or preparing food for various groups who call us up. The house is often full of the smell of spices and the sound of large pots being moved around. It isn't a corporate setup at all; it feels more like a busy home kitchen that never stops. We have to be careful with our timing because people expect their food to be ready when they say. Most of us who work here are just local people who like to cook. We don't have a big website or a marketing team. Word usually gets around by people telling their friends about us. The neighborhood is quiet enough, but we stay very busy inside. Managing the deliveries through the Aminjikarai traffic can be a headache sometimes, but we get it done. It’s just a practical food business run from a residential area. We keep things simple and focus on the cooking part of the job. There isn't any fancy dining room here, just plenty of space for preparing large orders and packing them into the transport vehicles for the day.
