The office is on the first floor at number 12, right on Arcot Road in Valasaravakkam. If you stand on the balcony for a minute, you can see everyone going in and out of the Murugan Idly Shop which is directly opposite us. The traffic here in Chennai never really seems to stop, so it's a very busy place to be situated. We spend a lot of time on the stairs going up and down throughout the day. Inside the room, we have some traffic sign charts on the wall and a few chairs that have seen better days. Learning to drive in this part of town means you really have to get used to the buses and motorbikes zooming past you at all times. It can get quite hot and sweaty in the afternoons, but we keep the ceiling fans going to stay cool. Most of our students are from right around the neighborhood. They usually come in after their college classes or after they finish work to get their practice hours in. We’ve been in this specific building for a while now, and the neighbors nearby all know who we are. Sometimes we go across the road for a quick snack when there's a gap in our daily schedule. The lane behind the main road is where we usually start the beginners because it's a bit less chaotic. You have to be really careful with the clutch on these busy roads. It’s just a regular local spot, nothing too special to look at.
