Sri Ram Chandra Medical College

We have been based here in Porur for quite some time now. Most people around Chennai are familiar with the large buildings of our campus. It is usually a very busy place, with students in their white coats rushing between classes and the hospital wings. This isn't one of those quiet, secluded colleges. It's a place where things are happening all the time, day and night. You will see students sitting in the canteen areas with their heavy textbooks or groups talking near the entrance. The traffic on the main road outside is often quite heavy, but that is just part of being in this area. We have a lot of different departments, and the hospital part keeps everyone on their toes. It is a bit of a maze if you are new, but you get used to it quickly. The campus has some older sections and some newer ones, reflecting how we have grown over the years. We don't really do much in terms of flashy advertisements. Most people know us because they or someone they know came here for treatment or to study. It’s a place of hard work, where students spend years trying to learn everything they need to. The hostels are always full, and there is a real sense of a small town within the campus itself. We just keep going with our daily routines and try to keep everything running as it should.
