Abirami Kalvi Nilayam

Choolai High Road is one of those old, busy parts of Chennai that never seems to sleep. Our place, Abirami Kalvi Nilayam, is located at number 131, right near where Sami Street meets the main road in Choolai. It’s an old building, nothing like those new glass towers you see in the IT parks. We like it that way. It feels more like home. We’ve been teaching kids from around the neighborhood for a long time. People here know us by name. It’s not just about the grades, though that’s important. It’s about having a safe place for them to come after school. The rooms are a bit old-fashioned, maybe need a fresh coat of paint soon, but they serve the purpose. On rainy days, the road gets a bit messy, but the kids still show up. We have a small staff, mostly just local teachers who have been doing this for years. We don't use any fancy computers or projectors. Just books, pens, and paper. It’s the way we’ve always done it. It’s a bit noisy with the traffic outside, but you get used to the sound of the horns and the buses going by. There is a small tea stall just outside where we go for a break. It’s a simple life, and we’re happy to be part of the Choolai community after all these years. We just take things one day at a time here.
