This place is located on Thambu Chetty Street down in Parrys. If you know that area, you know how packed it gets with trucks and people every single morning. We are at number 180. It’s an old part of the city, and the streets are pretty narrow, so getting here can be a bit of a challenge if you’re driving a big car. Most of the staff and students just use the local transport because it is easier. The building itself has been around for a good bit of time. It doesn't look like those new modern hospitals you see in the suburbs. It has a more lived-in, solid feel to it. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of footsteps in the hallways and people getting to their classes. Parrys is a loud area with all the markets nearby, but once you step inside the college, it stays fairly focused. We don't spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty for photos. There are always folders stacked up and people rushing to get to their shifts. It’s a very practical environment. We have our routines and we stick to them. On rainy days, the street outside gets a bit messy, but that’s just part of being in this neighborhood. We’ve seen a lot of changes on Thambu Chetty Street over the years, but our spot stays pretty much the same. It’s a busy life here, but we are used to it.
