Acorn Academy

We are tucked away on 9th street over in Shenoy Nagar at No 23. The best part about being in this spot is that we are right near the park. You can hear the kids playing on the swings and see people out for their morning walks. It is a lot quieter here than on the main roads of Chennai. Acorn Academy is just a small building with a few rooms for classes. We have some basic desks and a couple of computers that we use. The walls are painted a plain color and we have some old posters pinned up. It is a place for learning, so we try to keep the atmosphere calm and steady. The street outside is narrow, so if a big car or a van comes through, everyone has to move out of the way. We know most of the neighbors on this block and they usually say hello when we open up the doors in the morning. It is a very local vibe here. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps for a minute to get some fresh air. The trees from the park give us a bit of shade, which is nice when the heat gets bad. We do not have a fancy receptionist or anything. You just walk in and talk to whoever is sitting at the desk. The floors are a bit worn down, but we just focus on the work.
