Sri Murugan Paper Stores

Our shop, Sri Murugan Paper Stores, is located at No.37/17 on Pillaiyar Koil Street. Triplicane is a very old and busy part of Chennai, and our street is no different. It’s narrow and always filled with people and bikes. We’ve been selling paper products from this small storefront for many years. Inside, it’s basically floor-to-ceiling shelves packed with different kinds of paper, envelopes, and notebooks. It smells like old paper in here, which some people like and some don't. We don't have a computer system to track everything; we mostly know where things are just by looking. Sometimes it takes a minute to find a specific item if it's buried at the back. We don't do any big advertising. People in the area just know we are here when they need stationery or supplies for school. The fans overhead are old and a bit noisy, but they keep the air moving during the humid days. We don't have a big team, it's just a family-run thing for the most part. We aren't looking to become a big chain. We’re happy just serving the locals who walk in. It’s a simple business. We open early and close when the street gets quiet. There is always a lot of dust from the street, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the counters. It is just a part of the daily routine.
