You can find us on Th Road in Tiruvottiyur, right next to the Axis Bank. It’s a busy stretch of road, which is actually pretty good for teaching people how to drive because they have to learn to pay attention to everything at once. Chennai weather can be tough, especially in the middle of the day, so we try to schedule the driving sessions when it’s a bit cooler if we can. Sri Karpagam Driving School is just a straightforward place. We don't have any big slogans or anything. We just have the cars and the time to sit with whoever wants to learn. A lot of our students are nervous when they first sit in the driver's seat, which is completely normal. We just talk them through it and try to keep things calm. The office at 1039 is usually where you'll find someone drinking tea and looking over the schedules. It’s a lot of coordination, making sure the cars are fueled up and the students show up on time. Dealing with the licensing process can be a headache with all the rules and steps, so we try to help out with that part as much as we can. It’s a local operation, and we’ve seen a lot of people from the neighborhood pass through our doors over the years. We just keep things moving, one gear change at a time, right here in the heart of Tiruvottiyur. It's a simple job but it keeps us busy every day.
