Spark Engineering

You can find us over at 36 Perumal Kovil Extn. Street in West Saidapet. It’s a workshop environment, so expect some noise and the smell of grease and metal. We do engineering work, mostly small-scale things that the bigger shops won’t bother with. We have a few machines that have been with us since the start. They aren't the newest models, but they work just fine for what we do. The street outside is usually busy with people going to the temple or just heading home. We keep the doors open to let the air circulate, especially when we’re welding or cutting. It’s just a few of us here. We wear overalls most of the time because it gets messy. There’s a small table in the corner where we sit and have our lunch or look over some drawings. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just take the jobs as they come in and do what we can to finish them on time. People in West Saidapet know us as the place to go when a part breaks or something needs to be fabricated. It’s a lot of manual labor, and we go home tired, but it’s good to see a finished piece of metalwork. The floor is always covered in shavings, no matter how much we sweep. It's just the way a real shop looks when people are actually working.
